Real Stories
Honest words from parents and students around the world, in their own voice.
To be honest, at first I was scared, online school sounded risky. The team patiently answered my questions, and after a month my son was opening his lessons without me reminding him. The biggest change is his English: before he said “I understand but I cannot speak”, now he speaks. He makes mistakes, but he speaks. For me, that matters more than marks.
My daughter is a tennis player, so normal school was always difficult, training, travel, tiredness. IWS is not “easy school,” but the way it is organised makes sense for our life. She loves that lessons are live with a real teacher, and I love that she can revisit recordings when she misses something. Now tennis and school are not fighting each other every day.
My son came to IWS after a very rough time, anxiety, missing more days than he attended. The teachers were kind without letting him hide, and that balance mattered. After a few weeks he started joining lessons without me pushing. He still has difficult days, but he is learning again and not waking up in panic. For our family, that is a big thing.
We wanted to keep our daughter at home but still give her a real international education, with teachers, subjects and routine, not just extra English. At first she was shy because other students spoke faster, but the teachers gave her time. Now she is serious about her homework and talks about university in the UK, not as a dream, but as something she can prepare for.
My son is clever but was bored in normal school, and we wanted a British curriculum for university later. Online school needs discipline, at first I checked on him a lot, but he became more responsible. His favourite is Business Studies; he even talks about it at dinner, which never happened before. He also loves that classmates come from all over the world.
I wanted a British education but I live in Japan, and at first I was worried about speaking English in class. The teachers were patient, once I gave a very short answer and the teacher helped me say it better, so I tried more. Online school takes self-organisation, but it made me more independent. I do not only study from Japan, I feel connected to other students too.
I used to think online school meant watching videos alone, but I wanted real classmates. My first week I was very quiet about my English. Then a teacher asked my opinion and nobody laughed, so I started to speak more. What I like is that teachers remember you, if you are quiet, if you did not understand. IWS helped my confidence, especially speaking and presentations.
I needed more flexibility, but honestly I also needed help getting organised, I used to leave work until it was very late. At IWS the lessons are clear and I always knew what was coming and what to catch up on. The teachers speak to you like you are old enough to take responsibility, annoying at first, but it helped. Step by step, IWS made me more serious about my future.
IWS has really helped me be academically confident while giving me the time to dance. The community is online, but it is still really connected and supportive.

I have made good friends and met teachers who take the time to make sure everything is as clear as possible, and who are always ready to help. I have really enjoyed the interactive learning and working as a team with my classmates.
