We also ask how much live teaching is right for your child, what feedback structure suits them, what wider development you expect, and how much responsibility IWS will hold for their overall educational experience.
What the Learner Profile looks at.
The Learner Profile is a short, friendly assessment that helps us understand your child’s level and needs, and place them correctly. It isn’t a pass-or-fail entrance exam.
We’re looking to understand both where your child is academically and how they’re developing as a person, which gives us a starting point for personalising their learning.

IWS accepts students during the year as well as at the start of it. The 2026/27 academic year began on 14 September 2026.
Our team will recommend the right start date based on your child’s needs, and we’ll help them settle in and catch up with confidence.

Who can join?
IWS welcomes students from all backgrounds and locations.
Ages 5 to 19
Students join us from Primary School through to A Level.
University Foundation Programme
For students aged 16 and over. An OCN London University Foundation Programme.
Subject entry requirements
Some programmes, such as A Level, have subject-specific entry requirements. Our admissions team will guide you through exactly what applies to your child.
Families join us from the UK, from across Europe and from Brazil.
How exams work.
IWS does not run examinations. Students sit their exams at an approved exam centre, and we guide your family through registering.

What documents do we need to apply?
To get started, all we need is a few details about your child and their current schooling. Any reports or records are helpful but not essential at the first stage.
When can my child start?
You can enrol at any point in the academic year. Our team will recommend the right start date based on your child’s needs.
Is there an entrance exam?
There’s no pass-or-fail entrance exam. We use a short, friendly Learner Profile to understand your child and place them correctly.
How long does the process take?
For many families, it takes just a few days from the first consultation to enrolment.
