This Cookie Policy explains how IWS Online School ("IWS", "we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy & Data Protection Notice. IWS Online School LTD is the data controller. If you have any questions, contact our Data Protection Officer at [email protected].
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, such as pixels, tags and local storage, work in comparable ways. They help a website function, remember your choices, understand how the site is used, and (where you allow it) support advertising. Cookies may be set by us ("first-party") or by other organisations whose services we use ("third-party").
We group the cookies and similar technologies on our website into four categories:
| Category | What it does | Consent needed? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Required for the website to work — for example security, page loading, and remembering your cookie choices. | No — always active |
| Analytics | Help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. For example, Google Analytics. | Yes |
| Functionality | Enable embedded features and content. For example, our Calendly booking tool and embedded YouTube/Vimeo videos. | Yes |
| Marketing | Used to measure and improve our advertising. For example, Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. | Yes |
Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the site cannot work properly without them. All other cookies (analytics, functionality and marketing) are only set if and when you give your consent.
When you first visit our website, you will see a cookie banner. Non-essential cookies are not set until you accept them. You can accept all, reject all, or choose which categories to allow, and you can change your choice at any time (see section 6).
We are mindful that many of our website's visitors are families of children. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of children, and our advertising is directed at adults (parents and carers).
Some cookies are set by third parties who provide services on our site, such as Google (analytics and advertising), Meta (advertising), Calendly (booking) and YouTube/Vimeo (video). These providers process data under their own privacy and cookie policies, and we recommend reviewing them. We do not control third-party cookies directly, but we only allow non-essential third-party cookies to load where you have consented.
You can change or withdraw your cookie choices at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of our website.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including deleting existing cookies and blocking future ones. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.
For the advertising and analytics tools we use, you can also opt out directly:
A detailed, up-to-date list of the specific cookies on our website — including each cookie's name, provider, purpose and how long it lasts — is available through the "Cookie settings" link on our website. This list is kept current as our website changes.
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we add or remove tools. The version and date at the top show when it was last updated. Please check back for the latest version.
If you have any questions about our use of cookies, contact our Data Protection Officer at [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
